Building Inspection
Within the Planning & Inspection Services Department, the building inspection division is required to administer and enforce the Nova Scotia Building Code Act and Regulations. This division is responsible for all activity related to new construction, alterations and/or repairs to existing structures, relocations, demolitions, and changes in occupancy use.
If you are preparing for an upcoming project, contact the municipality today to discover if a permit is required! As all applications are reviewed for development permit approval prior to building permit approval, you are encouraged to discuss project details with the Development Officer to ensure your plans meet zoning regulations.
