Effective September 25, 2024 John "Chuck" Ryan has withdrawn as a candidate for District 6. His name will still appear on the ballot as it is legally required.
Municipal elections in Nova Scotia are held every four years. The next election will be Saturday October 19, 2024.
It’s election time and the Municipality of the County of Annapolis is making voting fast and easy with electronic voting. Eligible electors can vote from anywhere either by phone or computer from 8am on October 7th until 7pm on October 19th. Residents can contact the Voter Help Line at 1-833-806-1515 weekday from 8:30am to 4:30pm starting October 7th and on Election Day, October 19th from 8:30am to 7pm. Voter information letters will be mailed out on October 2 and will contain all the information needed to cast your vote if you do not receive a voter information letter please contact the voter help line.
Email elections@annapoliscounty.ca today to see if you are on the List of Electors or as of October 7th call our voter helpline 1-833-806-1515. Eligible electors not on the list will need to provide proof of eligibility and/or come to the County office to swear an oath in order to be added to the List of Electors and be able to vote in the upcoming election.
Qualifications of elector
Every person who
(a) is of the full age of eighteen years on the first advance polling day;
(b) is a Canadian citizen on the first advance polling day;
(c) has been ordinarily resident in the Province for a period of six months immediately preceding the first advance polling day; and
(d) is ordinarily resident in the municipality or in an area annexed to the municipality and has been so since immediately before the first advance polling day, is entitled to be registered on the list of electors and to vote
Disqualified persons
The following persons shall not be entitled to be registered on the list of electors or to vote
(a) the returning officer;
(b) a person serving a sentence in a penal or reform institution; and
(c) a person who has been convicted of bribery under this Act in the six years preceding ordinary polling day.
