Public Works, also known as Municipal Operations, is responsible for maintaining and constructing county infrastructure.
Day to day this involves, ensuring that our water and wastewater plants and systems are operating effectively, that municipal roads and sidewalks are maintained, and that county owned building, recreational facilities, parks, and trails are in good working condition. The Municipality owns and maintains 3 sewer treatment facilities, 30 lift stations, and approximately 35km of sewer mains.
We would like to remind everyone that ONLY wastewater and toilet paper belong in our sewer systems. Flushable wipes, disinfectant wipes, baby wipes, fats and oils clog our pumping stations and can block our mains or even cause costly trouble in your home sewer pipes and lateral.
Roads and Sidewalks
The Municipality owns and maintains approximately 24km of roadways, and 15km of sidewalks. As well as all the streetlights in the County.
Park and Facility Maintenance
Public Works is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of all the County owned parks, trails, and recreational facilities as well as the administration building, dog pound, and two public work shops.

Water
The Municipality owns and maintains 4 water treatment facilities, 188 fire hydrants, approximately 66km of watermains.
