Council Visits Community Groups to Say Thank you - 2024 Community Grants Program

Thursday, July 18th & Friday, July 19th:
Warden Alex Morrison, Deputy Warden Brad Redden, and Councillors David Hudson, Dustin Enslow, Bruce Prout, Brian "Fuzzy" Connell, Michael Gunn, and Lynn Longmire had a wonderful time visiting organizations and chatting with community members; these two days of visits saw over $85,000 go to support these community groups.
The Paradise Historical Society received a community grant in the amount of $20,000 to contribute to the installation of a vertical lift for the centre.
The Centrelea Community Hall received a community grant in the amount of $10,000 to contribute to upgrades to the building.

The Port George Lighthouse Assoc. received a community grant in the amount of $15,333 to contribute to the Lighthouse Restoral Project 2024 - replace siding.
RCL Branch 33, Bridgetown, received a community grant in the amount of $10,268.42 to contribute to the accessibility ramp upgrades and installation.
The Clarence Community Hall received a community grant in the amount of $5,000 to contribute to pavilion upgrades and a heat pump.
The Bridgetown Curling Club received a community grant in the amount of $5,000 to contribute to repairs to the building.
The Bridgetown Lawn Bowling & Quoits Club received a community grant in the amount of $3,467.40 to contribute to roof repairs to the building.
Valley Doulas received a community grant in the amount of $2,500 to contribute to community prenatal and postpartum support.
The West Paradise Community Hall received a community grant in the amount of $1,200 to contribute to the roof, electrical, and plumbing upgrades.
The Save Our Old Forests Association (SOOF) received a community grant in the amount of $2,500 to contribute to a fundraising event.
Friday, July 12th

Annapolis Valley Exhibition received a community grant on the amount of $20,000 to contribute to repairs and upgrades.
Cottage Cove District Wharf Society received a community grant on the amount of $20,000 to contribute to phase 2 of wharf upgrades and repairs.
Three Rivers Community Association received a community grant on the amount of $18,299.10 to help support the purchase and installation of a single-phase dishwasher.
Lawrencetown Exhibition Youth Arena received a community grant on the amount of $8,000 to contribute to upgrades to the building.
Port George Regional Recreation Centre received a community grant on the amount of $5,000 to contribute to a heat pump installation.
The Heart of the Valley Festival received a community grant on the amount of $2,500 to contribute to the Maritime Junior Heavy Events Championship
Wilmot Community Centre received a community grant on the amount of $2,400 to contribute to repairs and renovations to the hall.
Lawrencetown and Area Senior Association received a community grant on the amount of $1,775 to contribute to senior fitness classes.
