 General Labourer – Full Time Position

 The County of Annapolis Municipal Operations department is currently seeking a General Labourer to join our team. This is an opportunity to work amongst the breathtaking natural beauty of the Bay of Fundy shoreline and the lush Annapolis River, where you will be captivated by coastal communities, towns, village, historic properties and stunning parks that are the pride of our County. Annapolis County is an ideal location to live, work and play.

 The General Labourer provides facility maintenance, upgrading and repair support services for water, wastewater, streets and drainage systems, snow removal, trails and other buildings and facilities owned or operated by the County of Annapolis as and when required. The General Labourer reports to and receives direction from the Lead Hand.  The General Labourer shall be a member of CUPE Local 4549.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this position must possess as a minimum, a grade 12 or GED equivalent. Candidates must have a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license (minimum class 5, class 3 would be considered an asset). Certification in Water distribution treatment and / or wastewater collection treatment and post-secondary education in carpentry, plumbing or electrical would be considered an asset.

Ideally, the candidate must have a minimum of five years’ experience in the construction or maintenance of water or wastewater systems, with preference given to those whose experience is directly or indirectly working with a municipal government organization, or a combination of formal experience and lived experience.
