Winter Physical Activity Leaders
The Municipality of the County of Annapolis is inviting applications for the position of Winter Physical Activity Leader. These are term positions (for a period starting in December 2020 to early March 2020). There are 2 positions for week day hours and 2 positions for evenings / weekends.
Duties: Activity leaders will plan and deliver the County’s WinterACTIVE program that will get people moving in the outdoors with a focus on recreational activities. Activities may include snowshoeing, kick sledding, Nordic walking, guided hikes, exergaming, geocaching and low-organized games. Adherence to COVID-19 protocols, policies and standards is a requirement of the position. A vehicle and equipment will be provided as required.
Qualifications: Successful applicants must provide a Criminal Record Background Check, Child Abuse Registry Check or Vulnerable Sector Security Check, valid driver’s license, First Aid and WHIMIS certification.
Experience working with groups of all ages outside in the winter months, leading snowshoe treks and / or hikes and holding a Hike Leader certification or other outdoor qualifications are also an asset.
