2021 Community Events List
As we enter our second spring/summer season in the midst of a pandemic, it has become obvious the effects are still very real in regards to hosting events and festivals. Already there have been cancellations, and the low number of submissions to the 2021 Annapolis County Community Events Guide tells me there is still a lot of uncertainty among our community organizations as they try to make plans to proceed with summer events; a very understandable situation.
In light of this, we will be offering this online version of the Annapolis County Community Events Guide during 2021, rather than the publication. This will allow events to be added (or deleted) anytime during the year eliminating a deadline for submissions.
Anyone who wishes to submit an event, please do using this online submission form (online submission form). If, later on, you need to cancel this event just send me an email (nbarteaux@annapoliscounty.ca) and it will be deleted from the list.
Admittedly, the restrictions presently placed upon us create challenges but I am positive they are the proper steps to get us closer to gathering safely with friends, family, and seeing our communities open up to welcome visitors and newcomers once again.

The Town of Annapolis Royal in partnership with The Historical Association of Annapolis Royal, Parks Canada and La Société acadienne de Clare invite you to attend the inaugural celebration of Pierre Dugua Day/Journée Pierre Dugua. Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons was a merchant explorer who, with his lieutenant Samuel Champlain, established the first permanent French trading post at Port Royal in 1605. Often overshadowed by Champlain, it was Dugua, however, the leader and financer of these expeditions. Dugua, and the Acadians who settled here, will be honoured along with the Mi’kmaw, without whose friendship and help the French would not have survived. Following a short film at King’s Theatre, two new panels will be unveiled.
