Area Advisory Committees

Like many other municipalities, Annapolis County has a Planning Advisory Committee, which is a sub-committee of Council.  However, where a community wishes to have more participation in local planning matters, Council has established specific area advisory committees.  These Area Advisory Committees are comprised of local or area residents and the Councillor of the area.  Their purpose is to advise the Planning Advisory Committee on planning matters that affect their specific area, such as reviewing a rezoning or development agreement application.  The Area Advisory Committee also participates in the periodic review of the area’s municipal planning strategy and land use by-law.
